March is Reading Month

March is Reading Month and Whiteford Elementary kicked off the month with an exciting assembly on Friday, March 1st. We are participating in a building read of the same book and it was revealed during the assembly. The book is "The World According to Humphrey"  and it tells the story of a hampster who lives in an elementary classroom.

Not only were the students introduced to the book on Friday, but Humphrey also made a special appearance!  Students who read their chapters each week will be entered into a chance to win fun prizes including reading to Humphrey and even taking him home on the weekend!

See links below for audio files for the read-a-long version of our book. When you listen to these audio files, you may hear some familiar voices!
