The mission of the Whiteford Agricultural School District is to provide a safe, orderly, stimulating environment, which will encourage each student to reach his/her fullest potential as a life-long learner. We are committed to developing responsible caring citizens who are prepared to contribute to a global society.
Whiteford Agricultural Schools is located in southwest Monroe and southeast Lenawee counties in Michigan, covering an area of 45 square miles. The Whiteford Agricultural School District was formed in the mid-1950s after a vote on school consolidation of a number of small school districts in the area. The first graduating class of Whiteford High School was the Class of 1959. The district currently serves approximately 720 students and maintains two buildings, an elementary K -5 building and a combined Middle School/High School building.
The district has a teaching staff of 41, full and part time support staff of 37 and an administrative staff of 4. One hundred percent (100%) of our teaching staff is considered highly qualified for their teaching assignment.
Whiteford Agricultural Schools offers a strong academic program that prepares our students for their future endeavors. The 2009-10 school report card issued by the Michigan Department of Education shows both our elementary and middle schools received an "A" and the high school received a "B" grade.
Technology is a high priority at Whiteford. Thanks to a county-wide technology enhancement millage, our students have the capability and the current tools to learn through the use of the technology. Whiteford Schools have over 250 computers on our network for student use. Classrooms all have mounted ceiling projectors. All elementary classrooms and MS/HS core subject classrooms are equipped with SMART boards. We continue to update our technology to meet the needs of our students.
Whiteford Agricultural Schools is a member of the Tri-County Conference and offers a wide variety of sports for students to choose.
Whiteford Agricultural Schools is the center of our community. Our community members have great pride in their schools and are strong supporters of the district.
