Athletic Program Philosophy

Interscholastic athletics are an integral component of the total educational experience.  While we will strive to make our teams as competitive as possible, our primary objective is to help our student-athletes acquire important life skills that will help them be successful in their adult lives.

Our Athletic Philosophy is designed to help young people develop mentally, physically, emotionally and intellectually to their fullest potential.  Programs are designed to encourage meaningful participation and provide experiences in a variety of activities.  While winning is an important part of any athletic event, winning at any cost is not part of the Whiteford Agricultural Schools Athletic Philosophy.  Academics, participation and sportsmanship take precedence over winning.

Through positive reinforcement and intentional teaching, we will show our athletes how to succeed with humility and persevere through setbacks in a productive manner.
